Whether you are troubled by strong emotions, struggling to cope with your current life circumstances or having difficulty adjusting to a new phase of life – Equanimity is here to help: The number one choice of psychotherapy provider of “Firestyle" magazine

Individual therapy

If you are aged 18 or over and worry, anxiety, fear, sadness, anger, stress or a lack of drive is getting in the way of living your life, then Equanimity is here to help. Every one of us has the capacity to feel joy, optimism, serenity and motivation; unfortunately, stress all too often prevents us from experiencing these pleasurable aspects of ourselves. Therapy can unlock these hidden qualities - allowing us to enjoy life to the full.

You do not need to have a diagnosed condition to benefit from therapy – perhaps you just want a helping hand; however, if you require treatment for a specific condition, Equanimity can provide bespoke treatments for the following: Panic disorder (PD), Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), Social anxiety disorder (SAD), Agoraphobia, Specific phobias and Depression.

Please note that all therapies provided are individual; consequently, we are unable to offer couples or family therapy.

Also note that his service does not offer emergency care. If you believe you may be at risk of harming yourself or another person, please telephone the appropriate service by dialling 999 or visiting your nearest hospital emergency department.

Who we are

Equanimity is a reliable and effective Harley Street-based psychological therapy service promoting excellence in mental health care. If you are seeking an enhanced standard of care for your emotional health, Equanimity may be the service for you. Equanimity provides services that might be traditionally sought via a psychiatrist, psychologist, psychotherapist, therapist, counsellor or cognitive behaviour therapist (CBT).

Key Benefits

You will receive an enhanced standard of treatment.

Equanimity uses the most up-to-date evidence-based therapeutic techniques. All treatments used are in line with recommendations of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and are reviewed and subject to modification according to the most up-to-date findings.

You determine the duration of your treatment.

There is wide range of variability in how many sessions a person needs and this can depend on various factors including lifestyle and pace of learning. Unlike other services, you will have full control of the number of sessions you receive.

Further key benefits

Your therapy will be unrushed.

Unlike public sector services in which treatment is routinely condensed into 30 minute sessions, our services allow adequate time for people to benefit fully from the therapeutic process. Our sessions typically last 50 minutes; however, if you require a longer (up to 60 minutes) or shorter session we are more than happy to accommodate.

No long waiting lists.

Your treatment can commence within one to two weeks following first contact.

Your treatment will always be personalised.

In recent years, psychological therapists have moved towards the use of a “cookbook” style form of therapy based on “disorder-specific” protocols. Although this style of therapy attempts to replicate treatment procedures with the best available evidence, it does not account for the individual differences people possess. At Equanimity, we will always pitch your sessions in accordance with your individual learning styles and we are happy to address as many issues as you would like.
